About

I am an Indigenous, Mexican, queer identified woman, born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. I arrived at this work through my own healing journey which has allowed me to develop a deep reverence for all humans that are courageous enough to engage in the complex, non-linear process of healing. I have dedicated my life to healing for my own family, my ancestors, my community, and the generations that will follow me.

I recognize the impact of colonization, patriarchy, capitalism and intergenerational trauma on our sense of well-being, safety, and belonging in the world. I am wholeheartedly affirming of all individuals that hold marginalized identities. My work aims to liberate and to support others in unlearning harmful narratives that are perpetuated by our society and culture.

In my free time, I enjoy expressing myself creatively through writing poetry, dancing, drumming, and cooking. I am deeply curious and can often be found deep diving into a new topic of interest. I am intentional about getting lost in the beauty of the natural world, music, all of the gifts, all of the pains, and the cycles of life and death that define this human experience.

“…As we let our own light shine,

we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Marianne Williamson

Professional Training and Experience

I received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of California, Riverside. Throughout my undergraduate career, I took an active role in facilitating current psychological research related to childhood emotion regulation and adult risk behaviors. I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling from Seattle University and the focus of my education was mental health care from social justice, anti-oppression lens. I have worked as a mental health provider in a variety of settings including higher education, community mental health, and a group private practice primarily working with trauma among culturally diverse adult populations. I have experience working with a range of mental health challenges related to chronic stress, mood issues, low self-esteem, intimacy, grief, relationship conflict, substance use, suicidality, and psychosis. I participate in ongoing training and consultation related to my clinical areas of focus, anti-racism, and decolonizing mental health care.
